[I tried, I really did, to get some hot action going on in here. I totally failed, so it's uh, not adult-rated at all. I hit the rest of your prompt though, so I hope it still works for you?]
pull me out when i’m drowning
“I’m stuck,” Jack says.
“Yes,” Ianto says. “I can see that.”
There’s a small silence.
“Could you get me out?” Jack finally asks.
“I’ll just – yeah,” Ianto says. “Hang on.”
Jack listens to the muffled explosion of laughter on the other side of the door, and sulks.
Ianto reappears shortly, face completely straight. “Let’s give this a shot then,” he says, and a bit of fiddling later, Jack’s arm has been extricated from the plumbing. “How on earth,” Ianto had begun at one point, only to decide that he really, really didn’t want to know.
“Thank you!” Jack cries in relief, throwing his arms around Ianto. “I thought I was going to be stuck there forever!”
“You’re welcome,” Ianto replies, a small grin tugging at his lips.
“However will I thank you,” Jack muses archly.
The grin on Ianto’s face turns real. “I’m sure you can think of a way,” he says, stepping closer into Jack’s space. Jack smiles and rubs his nose lightly against Ianto’s cheek.
“I have a present for you,” Ianto says, kissing Jack’s cheek. “Do you want to open it now?”
“Will it be useful now?” Jack asks, fingers inching towards Ianto’s belt.
“It might be,” Ianto says. “Why don’t you go have a look?” He bats Jack’s hands away, then nods towards the small pile of presents in the living room. “Blue box.”
It’s a ring. Platinum, plain, and discreet, with a thin necklace to wear it on. Jack wordlessly removes the necklace and puts the ring on his finger, then turns and kisses Ianto hard.
“I have to be back in the Hub in an hour,” he says, when they pull apart. “I need looking after. I get stuck in pipes.”
