Work like a madwoman and miss a great chapter! I have to say that it is canon in my brain that Jack is an opera buff. Simply because he lived through the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries when going to the opera was a huge social event. I have this image of him escorting a new lady or gent to the opera every couple of weeks or so on medium sized cons to supplement his income before Torchwood and when the early Torchwood bosses were being stingy with the purse strings. The pretty people never stuck, but his love of the opera did.
