I've come over not to read the fic but because I started shaking. It would be much more acceptable if Ianto had said, as I and my relatives have done on occasion, something along the lines of "You know how I feel about you, but never ever EVER say anything like that again in my hearing". It is a hideously offensive thing that many Welsh people have heard far too often, from people who mean it, and I can't recall hearing it done for any language but Welsh. It was part of the rationale for trying to wipe out Welsh.
