Given the differences in Ianto's personality and the changes that have been made to Jack's, I didn't think Season Two could go the same way it did in canon. I had rather a lot of fun changing things around, really. And retconning Gwen and Rhys was fun! necessary to show how Jack had changed because of Ianto's influence.
