I don't have anything to add to what has already been said. I do think it's an interesting observation that it took a clever con and a truly horrific level of violence for Jack to really "see" Ianto. I'm not entirely sure I buy it, since I think Jack was probably confused about why the incendiary and ultra competent Torchwood One guy ended up being so boring (based on what we saw in Fragments). I think Ianto had a lot to do with his own invisibility, because that suited his purposes. I think he could be seen again, maybe. But I also know at that level of depression, the effort necessary to come to Jack's attention again, and the team's, in a positive way would probably be beyond Ianto. I don't know. It's an interesting question, isn't it?
