That's such a difficult topic to deal with well, but this story flowed beautifully. I liked how different coping mechanisims were explored and how reactions and interactions changed and were perceived.
I really like Francine and how she's the soundingboard and motherhen that Jack needs. The uneven pace of recovery in this was very nicely done. Thanks for sharing this, it was an interesting and thought-provoking piece.
