“No, that really annoying one,” Owen says. “Something about umbrellas?”
“Ella, ella, eh, eh, eh,” Gwen sings, and then ducks as Owen throws a scrunched-up napkin at her.
“That’s the one,” Owen confirms glumly. “Been stuck in my head all day.”
“I can’t believe you don’t know the song,” Gwen laughs. “It’s only been playing all the time.”
Owen scowls. “You think I care?” he asks. “What kind of song is that anyway? Umbrellas?”
“It’s about sticking with the people you care about,” Gwen says with wide-eyed earnestness. “Rain or shine, you know, always sheltering them even when life’s terrible for them.”
Owen gives her his most incredulous stare. Gwen holds the innocent expression for a few more seconds before dissolving into giggles.
“It’s still a stupid song,” Owen says with a snort. “At least the stupidity of the lyrics has gotten the tune out of my head.”
“You can stand under my umbrella,” Gwen sings immediately, and then runs for cover as Owen lunges for her.
