...This is so fucking brilliant, I can't even. And of course you went all epistolary (I think that's the right word) up in here and actually wrote a page of The Book, and it's adorable, and I love how Danny's slow to get it, but once he does, he's all about taking the next step. And I love how clear Steve's characterization is, even though it's through the unreliable narrator of Danny (who somehow doesn't see that Steve is head over heels, even though we all see it instantly); the jealousy, the bootlegger's turn, the sunny smile once he knows he's got Danny's metaphorical friendship bracelet. I did miss Jenna, but I loved Danny's line in the beginning about how he has to stop himself - it shows that he misses her, too, and that was adorable.
Honestly, the only thing that would improve this would be a sequel - I want to see Gracie the Flower Girl and maybe Billy Hanemoa the ring-bearer and Kamekona and Chin as groomsmen. And naturally Kono argues that she shouldn't be the maid of honor - if anything, she's the best man, really.
