Homecoming
Yesterday, Sasuke came back to Konoha. I can't begin to explain how relieved I am. Those three years training with Ero-sennin paid off. I managed to defeat Sasuke, if only barely. I think he was waiting for someone to take him back, really. Like he was waiting for someone to slap him and bring him home.
I'm probably flattering myself to think he was waiting for me. I'd like to delude myself, though. I've been waiting so long for him, I'd like to think he's missed me too. If only a little bit.
Sakura nearly went insane when she saw him, I swear. She was trying to clobber him and hug him at the same time, all while bawling her eyes out. Should've seen Sasuke's face. Poor guy had no clue what to do.
I think the rest of the village is a little wary of Sasuke. The way they see it, he's abandoned us once, he could do it again. But he won't, I'm sure of that. Before this, I always felt like Sasuke was somewhere else. Even through the insults, the fights, the jobs we pulled off together, he always felt so distant, like he was wondering what else was out there. How else he could get stronger. Now he's seen what else he could be, I think he's glad to be home.
He isn't such a bad guy. He's my best friend, I think. But I don't think I'm his best friend. I'll settle for just being acknowledged by him.
I've missed him so badly. He'd laugh if he knew how much. I nearly told him yesterday when I saw him again. After he came back. I think I would have, but then I woke up.
